Pupdates Hot Off The Press: February 18, 2015

We’ve had some great adoptions in the last few weeks! In addition to the pictures below, we would like to share that our featured pet from last month, Maxwell, has been adopted by his foster mommy. Congrats to Maxwell and his Furever Mommy, Jean.

Featured Pet: Meet The Babies!!!

Get ready for puppy breath!!! We have two litters (12 total babies) that will be ready for adoption in about five weeks. One litter is Lab/Staffie mix which will be about 60 pounds full grown and the other is Pointer/Chihuahua mix that will be about 25-30 pounds full grown.

If you want to meet any of these perfect puppies, please fill out an on-line application at and we will contact you so that you can meet them.

Education: Adopting a Puppy

Puppies are perfectly round little balls of joy. They are also a ton of work. There is a lot that goes into raising an emotionally and physically healthy puppy. Check out the list below of what puppies need to learn in order to be physically and mentally healthy:

1. Appropriate chewing, i.e. a puppy toy not human shoes or furniture

2. Where to go potty

3. Meeting other people and animals

4. Basic commands, i.e. sit, stay, come

5. Kibble manners

Puppies are wonderful and we want to place the ones that are with us in their Forever Homes. Many of us don’t have the time or energy to appropriately care for and train a puppy (and that’s ok). If you are thinking about adopting a puppy, please carefully consider your lifestyle to determine if a puppy can fit into your day to day activities.

Things get a lot easier at the 2 year mark, if an adult dog is what would fit best in your home, we have plenty of wonderful ones for you to meet.
